this one thing really bothers me

Happy Friday, friends! I have made it to day three of blog every day in May. *high five*

So, today’s prompt is supposed to be: “things that make you uncomfortable.”

I read this prompt yesterday and when I was thinking about what to write last night, I somehow interpreted this as “things that bother me.” So I’m going to write about something that really bothers me, and I guess it makes me uncomfortable too? Oh well, whatever.

Okay, so you know how when you buy a new nice dress/skirt/blazer/suit, there are those two threads in the shape of an X that keep the slit/vent together. Okay people, get ready for it:

You are supposed to cut those.

I’ve created a simple diagram to show you what to do. Pretend this is the back of a skirt or suit jacket:

suit-skirt-cut

Apparently, there are many many metro riders and DC workers who do not abide by this simple rule. Really. So riding the metro with the rest of the DC workforce every morning, it just kills me when I see (mostly women) walking around with cute suits on and that little white X is just screaming at me to be set free. So here are my questions: Do people just not know that you are supposed to cut them? Do they not realize or just forgot that the thread is there? Can’t you feel the fact that your legs can’t move because your skirt is tied together?! I just don’t understand!

Also, you are supposed to cut the little baby threads that keep pockets closed on suits too. Just FYI.

Whew–done! Now go check all of your clothes to make sure you are not going to bother me on Monday morning on the metro. Thank you.

Random: whenever I hear the word bother, I think about this video: Bothering Snape

Bother, bother, bother, bother!

Something that doesn’t bother me: Friday!
